Explore Budapest, Szentendre and the Danube Bend!
Pap-Sziget Camping, Bungallow park and Youth Hostel is ideally situated by the River Danube very close to the capital city, Budapest. Visitors can get to Budapest by bus or suburban train. The bus stop is right in front of the camping, buses to Budapest run every 30 minutes. Trains for the city leave Szentendre station every 10 minutes.
The centre of Szentendre, a charming old town with winding streets, colourful Baroque houses, orthodox churches, art galleries and cafes, is within walking distance.
Szentendre is a picturesque old town, walk along the narrow crooked streets, visit some of its several churches and museums, including Skanzen, the famous outdoor village museum.
The Danube Bend, is one of the most beautiful regions of Hungary. The most famous towns in the area, Esztergom and Visegrád, are easy to reach by bus from the stop outside the camping.
There is always something going on in summer, festivals, concerts, sport events.
Activity
The island is a convenient starting point for hikes, cycling, boating and excursions to famous attractions in the neighbourhood.
There are all sorts of programmes held in Budapest, Szentendre and the Danube Bend during the summer period ; festivals, concerts and other events to choose from.
We can organize sighseeing tours to Budapest, folklore programmes, by-night programmes on the river.
Recreation and famous attractions of the area:
Pap-sziget campground is an ideal starting point to explore the area by bike, by boat or on foot. You can rent a canoe and enjoy the scenery from the Danube, go hiking in the surrounding hills or cycle along the river.

Our visitors can choose from a selection of accommodation options, including shadowy places for tents and caravans, chalets, pension and youth hostel rooms.
The campsite offers a selection of accommodation options :
• Bungalows overlooking the river with a terrace, two interconnected rooms, a shower and a kitchen.
• Pension rooms with a shower and toilet
• Youth hostel for backpackers, rooms with bunk beds- washbasin in the rooms, shared shower and toilet in the corridor
• Simple cottage with bunk beds, toilet and shower in a separate building nearby.
Easy to Reach
The campsite can be easily reached by road, public transport, plane, bicycle or boat, as well. It is by the Danube Bike Path Passau to Budapest, making it an ideal spot for a break.

Hungaroring (F-1)
The Hungaroring is a Formula One racing circuit in Mogyoród where the Hungarian Grand Prix is held. Pap-sziget Camping is a great location for those wanting to see Formula I , it takes only 30-40 minutes to get there over the new Megyeri-bridge.
Sziget Festival
Budapest Sziget Festival is easy to reach by the suburban train, leaving from Szentendre station.
Dog-friendly camping
Dogs are also welcome. The island Pap-sziget is a paradise for dogs, the perfect place to swim and run.
