Strand Camping

Strand Camping is a small and friendly camp site located on Doonbeg Bay in Doonbeg, Co Clare, Ireland. The camp site is ideally located and specifically designed for tourers, accommodating tents, caravans and motor homes.

The camp site offers a variety of hard standing and grass pitches with electric hook-up. The owners are also campers and use their personal experience to create and provide a great environment for a relaxing stay.

Prices per day are €9 per adult, €5 per child and electric at €3. Prices include showers. Dogs welcome free of charge.

Only a short walk from the camp site are a selection of restaurants and pubs, where live music is often played during the summer months. Doonbeg also has a small selection of shops and a post office. Throughout the year a number of festivals and events are held in Doonbeg including the International Jazz Festival.

The camp site is located on the bay, with direct access to the sea, river and local beaches. Surfing swimming and water sports are nearby. Hiking, walking and cycling routes surround the camp site. The Trump International Golf Links course is also located nearby in Doonbeg.

Doonbeg is located on the Wild Atlantic Way scenic route, approximately 10k away from the towns of Kilkee and Kilrush, with great opportunities to visit attractions further afield such as the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Loop Head. Dolphin watching trips are available nearby.

The Killimer to Tarbert river ferry, linking Co Clare to Co Kerry, is approx. 24km away making the camp site an ideal stop-over location when travelling along the West Coast of Ireland.

The camp site is open from the 1st March to 31st October.
