Apple Orchard Campsite
Apple Orchard Campsite is an independent family run caravan and camping site situated in a rural location at the South East corner of the Forest of Dean set within the Severn Vale Plain. (adjacent to a traditional Gloucestershire apple orchard).
The site has wonderful views of the surrounding hills of the Forest of Dean and the famous May Hill crowned with its distinctive row of pine trees with a short walk to the River Severn at its famous Severn bore.
The site offers a central heated amenity block with free hot showers, disabled and toddler wet / changing room. There is a self-contained washing up, Chemical and Grey water disposal area.
We have 60 pitches with electric hook ups on a level site.
Apple Orchard gives you the option to stay in one of our luxury Wooden Wishbone Glamping Pods with electric and heating also available are beds and bunk beds. All you have to bring is your bedding and cooking facilities.
We have an on site shop selling basic camping conveniences and a café. The site is located in a rural location with walks and cycling. It is a short distance from link roads to the Forest of Dean, Gloucester with its famous Cathedral, docks, Cheltenham and Ross on Wye.
Adjacent to the site is the Walmore Common which holds a recognised Special Protection Area. It is an area of damp grassland and ditches composed of clayey soils overlying the only significant area of peatland in Gloucestershire. The Common is subject to regular flooding and this creates suitable conditions for regular wintering of wildfowl and Bewick Swans. Ideal for those who enjoy bird watching.
