Larkrise Holiday Site
This lovely rural camping and caravan site certificated by the Camping and Caravan Association makes you feel far from the madding crowd but it is also convenient for major routes such as the A15 and the M180.We are only about 50 minutes from the ferry terminal at Hull and a similar distance from the coast.
The grassy site is on a small working farm It has new showers for 2014 as well as near at hand chemical toilets for campers. There is plenty of space to spread out. As well as fresh water and chemical disposal as you would expect there are picnic tables.
Subject to availability eggs and bacon may be available to purchase from the farm and fishing tickets for the nearby fishing lake.
The site is good for touring by car, or cycling or walking. You can see the pigs, horses, geese and chickens over the fence. If you go into Kirton Lindsey you can taste traditional fish and chips or go to the pub or have an Indian meal.
Try gliding at the Kirton gliding club or sky diving at Hibaldstow or off road driving.
There are many activities in the area. You might go for a walk in Twigmoor Woods or the Laughton Forest. There is plenty for all to enjoy. Well behaved dogs are welcome too. You might take your family for a walk in the woods or venture further afield to the coast at Cleethorpes or the Deep Aquarium at Hull.
Then at the end of the day return to the campsite and enjoy the sunset as you contemplate the open farm-land and eat a piece of traditional bread from Kirton Windmill to go with your farm egg and follow it up with cake from Uncle Henry's as you sit on your deckchair and enjoy your good-night cocoa or night-cap.
