Cwm Ty Coed

Cwm Ty Coed is situated in rolling countryside on our 30 acre smallholding which is planted with both meadow and mature woodland and grazed by our small herd of rare breed Balwen sheep - native of the Tywi Valley.

The camping fields are bordered by trees and have lovely views of the surrounding countryside.

The five pitches are secluded from each other but tents can easily be pitched together for family or group bookings.

We wish to create a sense of wild camping but also to offer a degree of comfort not usually associated with life under canvas.

Each tent/tipi is attractively and comfortably furnished with either a log burner or fire bowl for extra warmth.

Outside each tent there is a fire pit, picnic table, barbecue and hammock.
Each pitch also has a private, well equipped camp kitchen with gas rings, cool box, undercover picnic table and chiminea - making cooking and dining special, whatever the weather.

There is plenty of space to explore; swings and walkways are dotted about the woodland and there is even a zip wire for adults and children over 8.
There are toilets and a gas powered showers in the camping field.

Our campsite is situated only three miles from the bustling market town of Carmarthen with good shopping, restaurants and cafes, as well as a cinema and regular produce markets.

We are very well placed for the many attractions of West Wales.

The nearest coast is only five miles away and the lovely Pembrey Country Park, with miles of sandy beach, can be reached in fifteen minutes by car.

To the east the coast of the Gower is not far away and the many beaches of Pembrokeshire are an equal distance to the west.

Llansteffan offers a spectacular coastal walk and you can be exploring its sandy coves within twenty minutes of leaving your tent.

Brechfa Forest is very close by and offers stunning walks and mountain bike tracks for all abilities.

For those who prefer a more relaxed style of cycling there is the newly opened and award winning Millennium Coastal Path … we can even arrange discounted cycle hire.

The area is steeped in legend, with Carmarthenshire alone boasting twelve castles!
More recent history could draw you to the picturesque village of Laugharne and Dylan Thomas’ boat house with its evocative views of the estuary.

For the adventurous spirit there are plenty of activities to be enjoyed, including mountain biking, horse riding, coasteering (highly recommended), sailing, kayaking and seal watching on the West coast - we can arrange many of these activities for you.
Cwm Ty Coed is ideal for those with a sense of adventure or for those just wishing to get away from it all...
