Rural Camping 3km from Besalú
Camping is set around a 12th century Catalan farmhouse. On grass and under shady trees. Modern installations with hot showers.

Walk to the local village, Maia de Montcal along country lanes and shaded woodland (20 minutes), visit the Romanesque church, buy fresh products from the local shop, or visit the local potter at work in her studio, making hand crafted bowls plates and beautifully decorated figurines. Hike to the hermitage of Santa Magdelena,
(1hour)and enjoy the fantastic views down to the sea or up to the Pyrenees .
Lying between the Mediterranean Sea and the Volcanic Natural park of La Garrotxa, between the historical and cultural centres of both Girona, with its colourfully fronted river houses, and medieval quarter, and Figueres, with its lively covered markets and world famous Dali museum. An ideal location for many different and varied types of excursions all within a short distance from the campsite.
Tour the wine and olive oil region of the Emporda, where it is possible to visit the local bodegas and oil presses of the area.
Barcelona is also within easy reach. 50 minutes by the ultra modern TGV train from Figueres or 1hr 15mins by car, or 1hr 40minutes by bus from Besalú.
Many good quality restaurants nearby, from traditional Catalan, to high gourmet, to tapas. Drink the local wine, water or refreshing beer.
