The Secret Campsite (Lewes)
The Secret Campsite (Lewes) is a small peaceful and secluded tent-only campsite, perfect for families and those seeking a small friendly site. We are 5 miles north of Lewes in East Sussex.
We have 17 very large pitches and allow campfires using our locally sourced firewood. The camping meadow is surrounded with ancient woodland filled with an abundance of wildlife.
Visitors often see kestrels, owls and deer amongst many other species. The camping meadow is car and dog free to allow children to explore and roam safely. We provide trolleys to transport your belongings into the camping field, which is just a couple of minutes from the car park.
We have a quiet time after 10 pm to allow for the sounds of wildlife to fill the site.
We offer hot solar powered showers, flushing loos and a covered washing -up area.
There is easy walking access to the local village of Barcombe up a track from the campsite. The site has recently been heavily planted with trees that have been carefully selected for their edibility content. The owners have a huge and genuine interest in edible plants, trees and wildlife. The campsite will increasingly offer an interesting and exciting mix of flora and fauna.
There are lots of pubs nearby catering for a wide range of tastes and budgets and also a great farm shop 5 minutes walk away.
The Secret Campsite offers a secluded location in a beautiful setting with great access for cycling, walking and exploring the South Downs. It is a perfect base to explore Sussex and visit local beaches, historical houses and gardens and enjoy the vibrant and eclectic town of Lewes.
