Llyn Gwynant Campsite
Llyn Gwynant is the nature lovers' campsite in the very heart of Snowdonia. The campsite lies below Snowdon in the most beautiful valley in Wales. It is an ideal base for walking, swimming and other adventure activities. You can simply enjoy natural beauty and quiet beside the lake or river, relaxing by your own camp fire. No radios are allowed, recycling is required and respect for the land and for others is essential. Bookings are not needed for families or individuals, only for groups of 20 or more.
As well as camping we have large stone barns available for functions such as weddings or for large camping groups. A rural caravan Nutshell is also available for weekly hire. Use the links on the left to find out more.
You can access the Watkin Path or the Miners and PYG tracks up Snowdon directly from the campsite - saving the hassle of trying to find a park at Pen-y-Pass. A round trip up Snowdon takes 6 to 8 hours from your tent door depending on what route you take. There are several shorter walks around Llyn Gwynant or through the National Trust Hafod-y-Llan estate accessible from the site.
Just 5 miles down the valley is the scenic village of Beddgelert with several pubs and restaurants and 7 miles in the other direction is Llanberis which lies almost directly on the opposite side of Snowdon itself. Betws-y-Coed is a 20 minute drive and it is 30 minutes to Caernarfon or Porthmadog.
Nearby attractions include Electric Mountain, Sygun Copper Mine, Portmeirion, Ffestiniog Railway and Snowdon Mountain Railway.
You can bring your own canoes, kayaks, rowing or sailing boats at no extra charge, or hire a kayak or canoe from our own boat hire operator.smrtovnice
