Out in the Open Gay Campsite in Cornwall
Gay-friendly & dog-friendly farm campsite in rural Cornwall. Excellent facilities. Spacious pitches. Beautiful moorland views. And for a touch of glamping: shepherd's huts & tipi for hire!
We are situated just 10 minutes walk from the village of Porkellis, between the towns of Falmouth & Helston in Cornwall. The farm is at the end of a track, away from roads & is both peaceful & private. We are in a central position for access to the north & south coast beaches & major tourist attractions. Please be aware that, due to a narrow access lane, we can only cater for tents & small campervans - anything larger than 7' wide will not get down the track!
The campsite is well-maintained & the camping fields are regularly mowed. We operate on a very small scale and we only take limited numbers, so you will never be crowded. You can usually choose your own pitch &, (within reason!), there is no restriction on space, number or size of tents. We have roughly an equal amount of male & female campers.
This is a safe & friendly site & most people know everyone else's name by the end of their first day. Whilst we have a lot of couples, single people have never felt isolated, as people tend to gather in the shed in the evenings. We have known people inviting each other for dinner parties, or going out for the day together, but also, those who prefer their own company find this is also respected.
We offer a range of camping options. You can bring your own tent, or small campervan. Alternatively, you can hire one of ours. Or if you fancy something warmer, more unusual & luxurious, perhaps our beautiful shepherd's huts or tipi might suit you.
