Corcreggan Mill
Corcreggan Mill Camping can offer
A place for your tent on our sheltered Cottage lawn close to the Mill stream and a new motor-home park with electrical hook-up and wonderful sunset views.
Showers, toilets and a dedicated campers kitchen.
Corcreggan is renowned for its tranquillity, its warm hospitality (and we don't just mean the turf and log fires), its comfortable handmade wooden beds, our recycling policy, organic garden, and meditation sanctuaries, the sound of the Mill stream by day and the crashing of waves on Tramore beach by night.
The property is set in what was once an important pre-Celtic site and is said to be the energy centre for the whole northwest of Ireland. It has 175, recorded, archaeological sites within an 8km radius. There are also 7 golden sandy beaches, a forest park with nature trails, the 200 metre Horn Head sea-cliffs, and historic Doe Castle, all within the same radius, (not to mention the many traditional music pubs and quality restaurants).
If you are on a schedule rather than a holiday, the one Must See is Tramore Beach, (2 km of golden sand with wild Atlantic rollers, and hardly anyone to be seen). You only have to walk for 25 minutes, on a grassy path across the dunes, to get there, passing a sous-terrain on the way, (... and, there are no roads, no cars, and no houses to be seen).
The beach is overlooked by an ancient stone circle. Nearby is the dramatic blow-hole known as Mc Swynes Gun and the Little Pistols which are all on the new Coastal Loop Walk that has just been established.smrtovnice
