Rhydhowell Farm Campsite
About the farm:
Situated south of Boncath on the edge of the Preseli Hills, and the Pembrokeshire National Park, the farm extends to seventy-two acres; nearly a third of the land is semi ancient woodland. Originally part of the Fynnone Estate, the house and buildings date back to the 1790's, and have listed grade 2 status as the best example of a 18th century farmhouse in the area. There is also a range of modern farm buildings.
Around the farmstead are extensive wildlife gardens, ponds and waterfalls, greenhouses, a static caravan in its own garden and the Caravan and Camping club certificated hideaway site.
Rhydhowell is a working farm, the main enterprises being beef and sheep, but we also have ponies, geese, ducks and chickens and of course Sally the sheepdog who is frightened of sheep!
The farm is in the Tir Gorfal environmental scheme and although not registered as organic is managed as far as possible within natural systems so as to encourage a good ecological balance.
The farm and nature trail is open to visitors all year round, so come and get to know the animals, there is always something happening, whether its feeding time for the hens, the geese running amok, or the cows needing to be moved - farm life goes on and you can be part of it. We are pleased to involve all our guests, whatever their age, You are also welcome to just come, wander at your leisure and have a cup of tea or coffee. (With biscuits of course).
