Penmarlam Caravan and Camping Park
Located high above the Fowey Estuary, on the edge of Bodinnick village, Penmarlam Caravan & Camping Park enjoys spectacular views across the hills and valleys of Southern Cornwall.
The Park has been fully redeveloped with the construction of a new Reception with Shop and Off-Licence, modern ladies toilet and shower block including baby changing facilities, disabled facilities, and additional electric hookup points.
All our pitches have an electrical hookup point and there are also 14 fully serviced pitches with their own water and drainage points in addition to an electrical hookup.
Bodinnick village is extremely picturesque and calm. You can walk into the village from the Park, perhaps enjoy lunch at the Old Ferry Inn, part of which is built into the rock face.
Daphne du Maurier's House 'Ferryside' is across the road where she wrote 'The Loving Spirit' set in nearby Polruan. The annual Daphne du Maurier Festival of Arts & Literature is held in Fowey each May.
There are many varied and interesting walks around, including the famous 'Hall Walk', but plan carefully as some of the hills can be steep.
From Bodinnick walk to Polruan crouched behind the head of the Estuary via the tiny hamlet of Pont where you can watch the hummingbirds, catch the passenger ferry to Fowey and return on the Bodinnick ferry which appears in records as far back as 1344 (though not the current ferryboat).
Fowey Town (a short ferry ride across the river) hosts the famous Fowey Regatta in August, a glorious celebration of racing, feasting and high spirits, when some 2,500 visiting yachts boost the substantial resident yacht population.
Enjoy the action safe in the knowledge that you have a peaceful enclave at Penmarlam Park to return to.
The beautiful and ever popular Polperro and Looe are within easy reach to the east. The Eden Project is just a short drive away, as are the many houses, gardens and attractions of Southern Cornwall.
For the more energetic a wide range of water sports are available on the Estuary, and for the children there are theme-parks, animal sanctuaries and many other attractions nearby.
Sea Fishing is available from Penmarlam Quay, or you can launch from Penmarlam Slipway.
Broadband Internet now available - either through the Kiosk in Reception, or hook-up your own laptop to our wireless network.
Most of the coastline of the Fowey Estuary and around is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with rocky bays, picturesque villages, and is of course a boat lover's paradise.
