The Apple Farm Campsite

The Apple Farm is located in county Tipperary in the south of Ireland. We are engaged in a number of activities on our farm. Among these is a Camping & Caravan park, fruit production units including apples, pears, plums, strawberries and raspberries as well as bouquet apple juice production. We have a farm shop from which our products are available all year round.

The Apple Camping & Caravan Park is located in County Tipperary, in Southern Ireland. Our site has received numerous accolades over the years, including more recently the best three star park in Ireland, as voted by visitors to parks all over the country.

It is a small family-run site, catering for up to about sixty people per night, though during May and September, the number of visitors is usually much less. While we do not cater for large numbers of people, the campsite itself is very spacious.

That is because it is situated on a fruit-farm and orchard, and we felt that it was worthwhile to give people extra space for camping on, rather than growing a few extra apples.

In fact, giving that extra little bit for our visitors is exactly what we believe in. On arrival we wish to have you feel welcome and at home, and you will receive a bottle of our award-winning apple juice as you settle in. (Best in Ireland, 2003-2011; Bridgestone Guide).

We hope also that you will be impressed with our campers' kitchen, which is a converted apple store, with seating for all who wish to use it. And importantly also, we think that you will see that we take pride in what we do, paying attention to detail, with facilities always kept clean and tidy.

You will find that as well as being very well managed, our site offers the best of facilities. You will note that our electricity connections are rated to 15 amperes. You will also find that no matter where you are on the park, located nearby will be an electrical connection and water supply.

You will also find that we do not charge extra for most of what we offer, so for instance, use of the newly-laid full-size tennis court is included in the price, as are hot showers (for as long as you like), hot water, campers kitchen (with freezer and fridge) and use of the hardstands.

It's not only our visitors that we are committed to however, and you will find some serious steps have been taken to safeguard the environment also. Almost all the hot water for your showers, washing etc. is heated by a solar array. We have a re-cycling point for cans (aluminium and tin), glass and paper, and will provide one for plastics as soon as this is possible. And, of course, we have the site (and farm) nicely landscaped with trees and plants of various sizes and species.

The final element to our success is to offer not just a comprehensive range of well-managed facilities, but to offer all this at a reasonable price. So you will see that our pricing is simple, with just a per-person charge (plus electricity if you want a connection).

Many people ask how we can provide so much for such a good price. The answer is that we utilise our facilities even when the site is closed (the site is open from May 1st to September 30th each year). During the late autumn, all of winter and early spring, we use the barn that houses the campers' kitchen and other facilities for storage of apples and apple juice. We use the hardstands outside for storage of empty apple bins.

Our tennis court is used as a car-park too, and the playground by visitors to our farm-shop (where we sell apples, pears, apple juice, jellies, jams, and anything else we can make from what we grow on the farm).

It is because we can use our site for other purposes when it is closed (and because of the free solar-heated water also) that we can offer prices that others cannot match. There really is no catch.

So if you are interested in visiting the counties of Munster, Tipperary, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Limerick or Clare, or nearby Leinster counties such as Kilkenny, then our site is an ideal location to tour from.

We hope that you enjoy planning your holiday, and perhaps we will see you soon.
