Peakspot Kinigi

3km from Kinigi, The Peakspot Camping is located on the slopes of Mount Sabyinyo. Northeast of Lake Kivu, one of the African Great Lakes and west of Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda, Mount Sabyinyo is an extinct volcano in the Virunga Mountains. The slopes of Mount Sabyinyo are a habitat for the Mountain Gorilla and will give you a great peak of various bird species.

Camping at The Peakspot should always be a fun and enjoyable experience and if this isn't the case, then something has clearly gone wrong somewhere. It would only be fair that you get to warm to the idea of nature in all it's glorious dirt and mayhem, at The Peakspot we strive to make your camping dream become a reality.

Go camping with us and get your life’s great pleasures but be sure not to let it become an addictive experience. Get out into the countryside of Rwanda alone or with your family, perhaps your friends and really commune with nature. It’s something that’s just as much fun for beginners as it is for those who have been at it for so long.

Our Non-Profit was established for the purpose of focusing on supporting the women in the communities where we operate with weaving materials to enable them make some money on their own off the sales they make. This so happens because, we contribute 10 percent from every full booking as well as private donations.

We aim towards creating a long-term, self-sustaining project that will live to enrich the livelihoods of local communities, promote the conservation of wildlife, restore natural habitats and work with communities and institutions to reduce human-wildlife conflict.
